Hello everyone! Things are progressing along well for most of the projects here in ORC, can't wait for the big reveal since by now, I can already see how smashing the rooms/spaces will be!
Anyway, I have hit a huge SNAG,
Remember what I said about my carpet delay last time? Well, it is in for so much more DELAY.
I am absolutely DISAPPOINTED IN LOWE'S.
For years, Lowe's has always been my GO-TO-BIG-BOX store for home improvement services, from my window treatments to major appliances, I have been a loyal customer.
But with the big 'fumble' they did on my carpet order, I don't think I will be anymore. To cut a long story short, it would be APRIL 28th until they Install my carpeting, considering I ordered them before ORC started!
I will not tell you how they messed up, but believe me, IT'S THEIR FAULT on why this delay came to be since I was never lacking on follow-ups and contacting them.
That means, I can only fix and decorate, assemble the furniture on the last week of the ORC!!! YIKES! I need all the LUCK I can get, and that's in big part, NO THANKS TO LOWES!
Sorry for my rant, I just have to let it out my friends.
I'm trying to move forward with other things, and I need you help on some decisions.
First up, something fun - I need to ask which of these do you think would be great over the crib?
Next up is curtain dilemma.
Both are from TARGET and both are very pretty. Which one do you think would work best in this nursery?
Also, I wanted to share this...
This arrived already ( and yes, 'thanks' to Lowe's I can't assemble it yet) and it will be going by the window. I think it will be perfect for the space don't you think?
And thanks to my Mother-in-law, I was able to have these...
Finally, I shared with you this
I think I may have an unexpected solution which I hope to share next week!
Stay tuned, since this has gotten me really excited!
Right now, our whole house is a mess since there are boxes everywhere. I really wish I could be done sooner, but for now, it looks like it'll be a race to the finish for us.
Oh, also, I shared this on INSTAGRAM recently...
Let's check on what others are doing HERE !

Would love to hear your thoughts! Please share away...
So sorry about your delay, that's frustrating when it's totally out of your hands! I like both of the curtains, but the pink catch my eye a little more. It's going to be so cute!
ReplyDeleteLooking good, Vel! I love looking at progress. Sorry to hear about your Lowe's experience.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about your big delay. I think the biggest challenge of the ORC is dealing with the glitches along the way. Can't wait to see the nursery all put together!
ReplyDeleteOh man that's so frustrating!!!! I'm so sorry they failed you like that. I'll be crossing my fingers for you. As for the mobile and curtain decisions- sheesh, could it be any harder?? They're all adorable!! I wish I could be more helpful, but I love them all! The good news is, you can't go wrong. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry to hear about your delay :( On a positive note, I love the direction you are taking this nursery. It's so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI have alot to catch up on here...need to go back and read what ORC is. Sounds like it's exciting minus the carpet delay.
ReplyDeleteThat's such a bummer about your carpet. Very disappointing! Anyway, I like both of the curtains, but I think the pink is my favorite, especially since you already have the gold patterned wallpaper, which I can't wait to see in the reveal!
ReplyDeleteThat's a shame about the carpet delay. It sure is frustrating, especially when you're on a time line. I like #1 for over the crib and #2 for the curtains, but all options are really pretty. :)
ReplyDeleteVel, I am so sorry to hear about the delay in the carpet! However, this room is so glam and burst color and fun that the carpet want even matter! I said it once and I'll say it again, that gold floral wallpaper is stunning and so glam! I love your choices for over the crib 1 & 3 are my favorite because they are different, girly, and full of color and glam! I also like #2 in the curtains because it ties in the glam gold factor. However, you might decide you need more color against the gold wallpaper. Keep up the hard work, you're almost there! XOXO, Sarah Sarah Sofia Productions
ReplyDeleteVel that's too bad about the carpet but in no time at all it will be in and you can forget all about it. In the meantime you are making great progress with other elements - I love the wallpaper and sconce!!!!!! Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteSorry for your disappointment, but on a bright note, your wallpaper is STUNNING!!! I can't decide between 3 and 5 over the crib and love the pink curtains…so pretty with the wallpaper! Can't wait to see what you choose…
ReplyDeleteSo sorry you are having issues with your carpet but your room is looking great. I'm loving the wallpaper. As far as the curtains, I like both but the pink stands out to me. Hang in there, it's looking great. Can't wait to see the whole room finished.
ReplyDeleteI´m sure you are going to finish everything in time. Your plans seem so well thought! Over the grib I would choose 1 or 3 and I like the pink curtains better. The bigger pattern in the other curtains would work better in larger windows. How ever you see the space and all the options together, so you know best! And you are going to spend time in there, not us ;)
ReplyDeleteDelays are so frustrating... sorry about your dilemma. Since you asked for our votes on the mobile and curtains, thought I'd chime in. I look #3 for the mobile and although I LOVE #2 for the curtains, I think the pink ones might be better with that stunning wallpaper.
ReplyDeleteHi Vel! I think one of the greatest lessons of this challenge is exhibiting "grace under pressure" when we're met with design disappointments & delays. I appreciate your grace and ability to sail through. I like drapery panel #2, but, #1 is so cheery and I'm really drawn it, especially for a little one! Looking forward to seeing your reveal! All the best!
ReplyDeleteYour fellow ORC participant,
Daena
My vote is 3 for the mobile and 2 for the drapes. The wallpaper is gorgeous, and can't wait to see what you do with the wall opening!
ReplyDeleteI am sorry to hear about the carpet delay especially when you are in a challenge like this. I would pick the pink curtains for the room. In my opinion, the gold curtains has large patterns and will "fight" against the gold wallpaper visually (which also has a large floral pattern). When you are in doubt, you can always put the two curtain panels alongside the wallpaper to see which one looks better.
ReplyDeleteAs for the baby mobile, I would pick #5 for its minimalist good looks since you already have the bold and fabulous wallpaper as the focal point, just my 2 cents.

Wow! What beautiful choices. I like #s 3 and 2 respectively. I also LOVE that wallpaper.
ReplyDeleteOh no, I'm so sorry, fingers crossed that it's smooth sailing with everything else! I love #1 and 3 for above the crib and dying to see that fabulous wallpaper up!
ReplyDeleteOh no! Sorry for the delay! I bet you are totally going to be able to pull it all together that last week! I love panel #1 but a baby might find panel #2 more visually interesting? Can't wait to see which way you go. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteCarpet - so frustrating! But seriously, I want all the mobiles. I like the pink curtains, but again, both are great! Can't wait to see it all finished (and good luck getting there!!).
ReplyDeleteOh Vel I'm so sorry about your carpet issue!! I hope they read this post and give you a big discount or something for the hassle it's causing you! I love mobile # 3and drape #1- pink is so in this year:) you'll make it beautiful whatever you do! Best of
ReplyDeleteLuck xo Nancy
