Loosing a friend....

I was supposed to share something to you today other than this.

But I absolutely can't.

Our hearts are crying once again with the loss of a very close friend in the Philippines.

ALLAN PAUL VICENTE QUINTERO
April 24, 1975 - February 3, 2015
He was a classmate since college, my husband's during med school and a very close friend.
In our country, we call this a "Kabarkada" or buddy.

We've shared so many things together and among the male friends I have, I consider him one of my closest.

We were so shocked when we found out two days ago. He was so young (39) to have a heart attack?!
I cried and cried and truly regret the missed opportunity of seeing him last December when he came to the U.S. He didn't want to imply on us about meeting up since he knew we just had a baby and was busy, I only found out when he emailed me last January 12 and I told him, he should've let us known since we would've surely found the time to see him... and now, he's gone.

Mourning far away is so hard too.
The only connection I have right now are with our common friends in Facebook.

All we could do is pray.
Pray for him and his daughter and wife he left behind.

He will surely be missed by his patients as well.
But for us, we will miss the laughter and togetherness we could've still had with him.

May you rest in peace dear friend... We love you.

Easy Valentine Doily Crafts

Hello Friends!

I hope that whatever team your rooting for this SUPERBOWL wins!
We are watching of course, but the highlight of our weekend was my son Aidan's
PETER PAN MUSICAL!

AIDAN is the little indian wearing dark brown to the right
It was truly very fun and exciting!
Honestly, even if my son did not participate in the show, I would still say that the show
over-all was PAN-tastic!!

Oldest kid in the group is Peter (Bailee) who is still in High school

But the most important thing is that, my little AIDAN truly enjoyed this experience and had a great time feeling proud of their work and belonging to such a fantastic group of kids!
I'm betting this won't be the last! ;-)

Taking his Bow
Thank you for indulging my "stage mom" side my friends.
And now back to my craft.

I came up with two very simple Valentine craft for this loving holiday.
We will be out of town that day but I still wanted to come up with something special
since it will be Sophia's 1st!

Doily Hearts Table Cover
This is truly a super easy but big bang project!

So my breakfast table has a lazy susan in the middle that added an extra layer to this simple project.

Plain jane most days
I then created a pattern first on top of the lazy susan...
Simple patterns
 ... then Taped away underneath
Our Simple but pretty Valentines table
I then added some bigger doily on the main table. Then taped away.

I also made this simple Doily Garland for the window...

Super simple again and budget0friendly

I got most of my doily from the Dollar Store and Hobby Lobby and still have Lots left-over.
This project cost less than $5 to make!

But of course, I could not keep the setting looking this way everyday.
So I just made a smaller Heart Doily Mat for the center of the table for daily use until Valentines day comes!

How about you, do you decorate for Valentines too? big or small, grand or simple, what matters is the  LOVE your give and receive on this special day right?!

Have  A Wonderful Week!

Flower Power

Since Valentines is coming up soon, my radar has been on alert for beautiful flowers.

I recently had so much fun re-arranging some ordinary store-bought bouquets in my home.
Actually, I bought only one, on SALE (you know me) for $8.99 and was able to make 2 arrangements!

Pretty pinks

I really love these colors especially with my blue and white pot

This one sits in our breakfast table
And I put the rest in our Dining room!

Got this small pot for $1.50 at an Antique store!

Still have my red flowers alive & well all the way back from Dec. 23!

I'm up for a VERY busy weekend ahead since my son is gonna be performing in Peter Pan Musical from Friday until Sunday.
He's just part of the Indian Ensemble, but even with that, technical rehearsals are still very taxing and time-consuming. My son is very happy to be part of the group though and is proud of his work, so we're on full support for this important event. Wish us luck!

Anyway, I'm Just loving all these beauties I see everyday that of course, to me, cost almost nothing.

How about you what's your favorite kind of store-bought flowers?

Have a Lovely Weekend!
