Past ORC Rooms - THEN & NOW

First of all, THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH for your positive comments and compliments of my East vs. West Fall Home tour! I also appreciate all the positive thoughts and words of comfort for my recent personal issues. Words are powerful and it helps to know that I have a lot blogger friends out there who are supportive, I truly am grateful!

So today,  I want to walk a little bit down memory lane and talk about my past ORC rooms!

Ok, the next ONE ROOM CHALLENGE starts in a few weeks!

So I thought I'd revisit the past 3 ORC rooms I did and what they look like now.

1) TWEEN BOY BEDROOM - Fall 2013

It seems like yesterday when I first joined the ORC with my first born son's bedroom. He was only 13 y/o then and we wanted to fix his room up for our young man. Now he's a junior in HS applying for college and I just get a bit teary-eyed thinking he'll be living his room soon!!!

AFTER ORC

The same room NOW

We had to make the bed into a bunk bed again when we redid our other son's room, so we had to re-arrange everything in the space.

2) SAFARI GLAM NURSERY -  Spring 2015

For the 2nd time I joined, we did Sophia's nursery!  She was almost 1 year old when we did her room because as you may know, we combined her nursery initially with our Master Bedroom!

AFTER ORC

Nursery/Toddler Room NOW

Major change would be the crib into the bed. I also removed the juju hat and replaced it with a mirror, but overall, the room still works well for our young lady!

3) COMFY & STYLISH BOYS BEDROOM - Spring 2016

And for the very latest ORC room I did, it was for my middle child, who also like his brother, has become a Tween overnight! LOL!

AFTER ORC

This room has not changed much since my son still loves anything STAR WARS but he does have more Marvel and DC comic books in his book shelf than before.

I hope you can join me as I tackle the most important room in our house (for me)! Can you guess what it is?

I'll be very busy this coming week preparing for my daughter's 3rd birthday! Can you believe it?! I can't! We're having a "Moana Themed Hawaiian Party" so I'm super busy preparing for that! I hope to share it with you soon!

Have a Great weekend!

East vs. West Fall Home tour 2017

Hello Everyone!

First of all ' THANK YOU ' for stopping by my humble blog!

I have been M.I.A. for the past few months for a lot of personal reasons, and decided to get going with my blogging again after this Fall tour (I hope). Of course, blogging is not for channeling personal woes (after all this is all about decor and homes) , so don't fret, I won't go into that detail. But to keep your worries away, everyone in my family is doing ok, and if you follow me on Instagram, you know it's not so bad. But let's just say 'airing out my dirty/sad laundry' on social media is not my cup of tea!

Anyhow, enough excuses. Secondly  I  need to thank our gracious blogger host, Marty from A Stroll Thru Life fame. Marty, I can't thank you enough for your patience, kindness and overall generosity for not giving up on me and my blog!!!! Your support means the world to me. Thank you for all you do!

So let's get the ball rolling shall we?

I'm sure you just saw the amazing home of Summer from Simple Stylings, and I hope you won't be disappointed with my tour after seeing that. I basically decided to do an "East vs. West" decor this year as inspired by my Seletti plate collection of the same name, which basically started the whole inspiration for my Fall decor this year. I usually also decorate more for Halloween too, which I can go crazy with. And with that in mind, let's go to the Living Room....

Fall Living Room

I kept my Chinoiserie blue and white collection everywhere and just added punches of orange all around. Also, I could not find a single pumpkin anywhere yet where we're at, so this is pretty much a "Pumpkin-Free" Fall decor! ;-)

Orange Velvet Pillows are from Ikea and the Peridot fabric is from Serena and Lily I scored
last year on clearance.

I added these peach peonies and pears to my coffeetable vignette and brought out all my stone and Brass Apple collection

These artworks have sentimental value to me - they originally hung in our first home
in our dining room and I only got to use them for the first time now!

They are basically embroidery cut-outs I found years ago at an Antique store in Chicago. Any idea what kind of art this is?

Brought out some of my Lucite grape collection

Placed my Giant Bird Art works on my console (normally they are displayed in the basement)

Had to share our now thriving Salt water aquarium!
Now let's go to the Dining Room....

My Seletti plates that started it all!

As you can see all the Brass came out here and I love the tarnished Brass chargers that I scored months ago at an Antique store for $1 each! I layered it as well with Rifle Paper Co. gift wrap I cut into placemat size and also the matching place cards. I adore everything in this store and stock up on their wrapping paper just because!

Table runner is made of native Abaca with embroidery, something I bought on one of my
trips from my home country, Philippines.

More is better when it comes to candlesticks don't you think?

Planted fresh mini mums in my Blue and white ceramic vessel.

In our Breakfast room I placed some of our now thriving Cockscomb flowers in a vase! I love that I get to enjoy something from our very own garden!

And before I end this tour, I realized it wasn't a "pumpkin-free" tour after all since I do have some pumpkins in my decor...

Pumpkins and mums on our Front Entry
Thank you for spending a few minutes of your precious time with me. I hope you enjoyed my tour and hope you head on off to the wonderful tour of Amy & Christy of 11 Magnolia Lane!

Our Kitchen Revisited

Hello Friends!

Did you already see some of the gorgeous homes for this year's Fall Home tour that is being hosted by Marty from A Stroll Thru Life ? You MUST! And I'm excited to join too this coming Thursday! Hope you can hop on over then too!

Anyway, I have been on a Blogging HUMP lately, and so please excuse me that. A lot of reasons, definitely no something I could avoid, but let's just say, I've got my"Blogging Gloves" back on and I hope you can continue to share in my blogging journey as I re-boot somewhat.

So today I just wanted to share with you one my favorite space in our house, the Kitchen!

Nothing major has changed really, but I figured I'd revisit the space since I haven't shown it much except during the Holiday Seasons.

It's been 4 years since I renovated this space. Do you remember what it looked like before? Let me refresh your memory?

Hard to imagine right?!
REGRETS: Anyhow, I wanted to share that after 4 years I STILL LOVE MY KITCHEN! It's not perfect, one thing I would've changed was the stone probably on the island....

Sure it looks fine here on the picture, but on closer inspection, it has a lot of stains already. The Stone experts were right, marble is not 'great' for a working kitchen like mine. I love the ceasarstone though on my counter.

I would've also opted to just do gold hardware on the white cabinetry and not just on the brown ones too!

PLAN: I do want to upgrade my bar stools already. These are fine for now, but my tastes have changed and I do want a more comfy set. The lighting on the island needs to be updates as well.

The Cockscomb flowers are from our own garden and I couldn't be happier to display it on our breakfast table.

Hope you enjoyed revisiting our tiny kitchen!

Don't forget to check out the home tours this week below!

Have a Great Day!
