I had a lot to share that I kept the pictures at a minimum (yes, that was "my minimum") but I still had lots more to tell you regarding details of my decor. So today, I'm sharing with you those details!
Like I mentioned I wanted a 'Subtle Beach' Theme, hence you don't see starfishes and a lot of shells anywhere, I do have some 'Beachy' stuff to go with my theme, but I wanted it to be subtle since one, I don't have a lot of Beach-themed decor, and two, my home has never felt beachy at all, so I came up with the above. I think it worked out for us since my little Sophia would probably not stop until all the starfishes are broken and shells scattered! ;-)
I carried the blue and yellow theme all thru out the house, and my newly made pillow covers with Serena and Lily Havana fabric was just perfect for my 'subtle beach' theme! Thank again to my awesome MIL who sewed these for me.
Our coffeetable was decorated mainly with knick-knacks I have amassed over the years. The jumping off point was Gray Malin's Limited-edition Signed copy book that I just recently got along with my two huge Kate Spade Wooden Platters I bought years ago. I topped the two platters off with plants on one, and grapevine wood and brass sand dollar (scores from Target). I also added my capiz-laden wood bowl with my sea-shelled covered balls and small capiz balls, all bought from the Philippines before.
By the piano, did you notice the four gorgeous paintings in my stairway? Do you remember what I had here before? Let me refresh your memory....
|
I had 4 black mirrors here BEFORE |
As in the BEFORE picture, I fell in love with
Gina Julian's work with my first acquisition, the (1) "Carried by the Crowd" water color! I then bought her other 2 available works, the (2) "Tulipa" & (3)"Sweet Melissa" and got a fourth one that was not on her site, called (4) " The Promise of Better Days"...

These are all so gorgeous up close that they just make me smile everyday! |
And because I'm a huge fan of her work, and Gina is just so accomodating and super nice to work with, I commissioned her to do my kid's portraits! I can't wait to share them with you!
I fell in love with these Otomi Pillow covers from Wisteria last year, and I've been holding on to them until this season. I decorated the seating area with this and my Lilly Pullitzer for Target stool and that huge Conch shell my mom gave me from the Philippines years ago.
Our TV area got 'beachy" too! Brought out our old beach portrait and my bisque white urchin votives I scored from Philippines on our last visit there,
My console was simple, with my huge Vintage Bamboo Bird cage flanked by my twos of vase, brass giraffe, orchids, bisque sea urchin votives. Behind the bird cage is a
PINK PAGODA print I bought years ago.
There you have it, our Summer Living room! Hope you enjoyed the details of this space! So how about you, are YOU or your home summer ready already?
Have a Great Week!
