Saying "good-bye" to our Master Bedroom as we know it... for now

I haven't done a lot of changes in our Master Bedroom, but I must say, with my plans of delaying setting up our Nursery, a lot of changes are coming into this room and I am gonna miss the way it looks now...

Our respite after a long day of work
The window area is where the crib will go so this favorite recliner of my hubs ( a gift 4 christmases ago from moi), will have to make a move....

My 'messy' bedside table, will house a lot of needed baby feeding essentials (breastpumps, bottles, etc)...
Add caption
This is our very messy dresser area.  I'm planning to move this too to make way for my hubs recliner. Most of the stuff here anyway are non-clothing items, we'll see...

And of course, the "Baby invasion" has begun....

Some of her stuff
I'm both excited and weary about this change, but more excited for sure. And I will surely keep you all posted on it.

We're going on a short vacation in Florida so I may be M.I.A. again next week. Hope you all will have a great one though!

Have a Great Weekend!

Basement Updates

I'm sure most of you are like ours.
The Basement becomes the home of old furnitures and other knick-knacks in the house that it's rarely featured on blogs.

Our is no exception. Other than the Movie Theater area (we D-I-Yed our movie screen HERE), Painting the walls and Changing the floors, it pretty much remained the same.

I did however added this...

Our counter-height table and chairs
This was what we had BEFORE

Yup, plastic table wasn't cutting it for us
I actually changed this over a year ago but just I haven't shared it to you all ;-)

Better
I got the wooden dining set from a Resale store for less than $200 and I added the 2 upholstered chairs from World Market. The picture of Chicago is from IKEA which I recently purchased.

Great view from here too
I had to have counter-height table and chairs because as you can see, part of our theater area is elevated so we needed taller chairs for sure to accommodate more people if needed ( great for big games and all).

Finally hung these too!

Check out that thing on the right....
We finally hung our favorite movie posters on the wall ( this will needs some tweaking since my oldest son is currently so into Stanley Kubrick and insists we change "TITANIC" to "2001 Space Odyssey"!), and that big "spaceship-like" chair on the right was my Christmas gift to my hubs...

Osaki 4000-T Massage chair

This massage chair was truly worth the money I think. It doesn't look great, but man, we can sit on it for a looong time and feel so relaxed and refreshed afterwards. If you want to know more about it just let me know. ;-)

Concession stand
We also got a Candy Grabbing machine as a gift from a friend last Christmas and it was added to our concession stand.

Not much change
Like I said, the basement is our cast-offs home too. So the leather sofa bed sectional sits here as well as other occasional chairs are here

My Moroccan table still has to make an appearance above ground ;-)

It's suits well here since it can provide extra-seating for watching on the big screen.

We still have our gaming & exercise area across the sectional - it's too chaotic to show just yet.

That Gallery wall needs major tweaking too

There you have it, our basement updates. We actually use this room often since we love movies and it's always nice and cool down here. I need to do a lot of tweaking as I mentioned, and hopefully, I can and I will soon. We'll see.. ;-)

Have a Nice day!

Simple Door update

I did a very simple update on my doors in the kitchen...

BEFORE
 I added this...

Yup, a Decal I got from HERE

Whenever I have parties, people often get confused as to which door to take going to the Powder room, so I thought it best to just LABEL the doors, to avoid confusion.

As usual, I chose decal because it's easy and won't damage my doors.
Their a bit on the small side if you base it on the photos, but in person, their just right.
Good enough to be seen even by the weary-eyed.

Simple projects like this make me happy and smile.
How about you, what very simple project have you done lately? Do share!

Have a Great Day!

Coastal Vignettes

Now that you've seen our SUMMER COASTAL LIVING ROOM, I wanted to share with you the little details in which I tried to make my room feel more "coastal"!

Let's start with the coffee table...

Simple set-up
I moved my capiz-lined driftwood bowl I scored from TJ Maxx from the Breakfast room to here and added 3 shell-covered balls inside. I stacked up 3 coffee table books and added my magnifying glass and brass compass-like-thingy on top.

To finish it off I added my fish-shaped bowl with our pet Beta and added this brass Threshold Sand Dollar I scored at TARGET on clearance for $3.28 /3 pieces.

For one of the side table...

I changed out all the frames to wooden ones to match my driftwood lamp. I added orchid and the lotus candle to complete it.

For the console...

I moved my hubs sailboats from the library/office, and added shells and geodes I've also been displaying in the office. Backed it up with my thrift  Cherry blossom Van Gogh for the color.

For the Piano area...

I moved our canvas beach picture and changed out my frames to linen and nickel ones. I also moved the boxwood topiaries from the console to here. I love that the rope lamp on the side and the driftwood mirror from West Elm on the back, makes this are feel more coastal too!

And of course our media center...

I used grapevine branch, starfishes, a real sea sponge I scored at an antique store way back with my brass dolphin and driftwood candles, mixed up with some pictures and viola - coastal feel here too!

I hope you enjoyed this detailed look at our coastal living room!

Have  a Great Weekend!

Our Summer Coastal Living Room

I finally finished decorating our living room for the summer!

Sorry for having been M.I.A. this past week. Life happens and we were extra busy with my little ones  wrap-up summer play, so I took a short break. Anyway, I'm back and I'm glad to share with you our Summer Living room.

You know me, I'm a frequent re-decorator and usually with the seasons changes, comes the living room changes. I went pretty simple this year since moving furniture is way out of my league at this point in my pregnancy. Hope you like it and let's get this tour going...

Transferred my fish bowl from the bathroom to the coffee table!

Not much change here except for the pillows and the table decor

I moved the Capiz inlay lamps from the dining room to the Living room  for it's  shell-like look

Of course you've seen my new chaise...

Sailboats and shells on the console

Beach pictures and just frames on our piano, moved rope lamp here too

Changed up my Media Center with sea sponge and star fishes

Simple Fireplace vignette
I really wanted to go "coastal" this year since I had a lot of coastal items spread thru out the house, I just clumped them up here. Initially I wanted navy, but that would entail missing out on my beloved yellow pillows for the summer, which I wouldn't have at this point ( mmmm, maybe next year I could do Navy & yellow).

How about you, have you switched your decor to summer yet?

Hope your having a Wonderful Summer!
