First of all ' THANK YOU ' for stopping by my humble blog!
I have been M.I.A. for the past few months for a lot of personal reasons, and decided to get going with my blogging again after this Fall tour (I hope). Of course, blogging is not for channeling personal woes (after all this is all about decor and homes) , so don't fret, I won't go into that detail. But to keep your worries away, everyone in my family is doing ok, and if you follow me on Instagram, you know it's not so bad. But let's just say 'airing out my dirty/sad laundry' on social media is not my cup of tea!
Anyhow, enough excuses. Secondly I need to thank our gracious blogger host, Marty from A Stroll Thru Life fame. Marty, I can't thank you enough for your patience, kindness and overall generosity for not giving up on me and my blog!!!! Your support means the world to me. Thank you for all you do!
So let's get the ball rolling shall we?
I'm sure you just saw the amazing home of Summer from Simple Stylings, and I hope you won't be disappointed with my tour after seeing that. I basically decided to do an "East vs. West" decor this year as inspired by my Seletti plate collection of the same name, which basically started the whole inspiration for my Fall decor this year. I usually also decorate more for Halloween too, which I can go crazy with. And with that in mind, let's go to the Living Room....
Fall Living Room |
I kept my Chinoiserie blue and white collection everywhere and just added punches of orange all around. Also, I could not find a single pumpkin anywhere yet where we're at, so this is pretty much a "Pumpkin-Free" Fall decor! ;-)
Orange Velvet Pillows are from Ikea and the Peridot fabric is from Serena and Lily I scored last year on clearance. |
I added these peach peonies and pears to my coffeetable vignette and brought out all my stone and Brass Apple collection |
These artworks have sentimental value to me - they originally hung in our first home in our dining room and I only got to use them for the first time now! |
They are basically embroidery cut-outs I found years ago at an Antique store in Chicago. Any idea what kind of art this is? |
Brought out some of my Lucite grape collection |
Placed my Giant Bird Art works on my console (normally they are displayed in the basement) |
Had to share our now thriving Salt water aquarium! |
My Seletti plates that started it all! |
As you can see all the Brass came out here and I love the tarnished Brass chargers that I scored months ago at an Antique store for $1 each! I layered it as well with Rifle Paper Co. gift wrap I cut into placemat size and also the matching place cards. I adore everything in this store and stock up on their wrapping paper just because!
Table runner is made of native Abaca with embroidery, something I bought on one of my trips from my home country, Philippines. |
More is better when it comes to candlesticks don't you think? |
Planted fresh mini mums in my Blue and white ceramic vessel. |
In our Breakfast room I placed some of our now thriving Cockscomb flowers in a vase! I love that I get to enjoy something from our very own garden!
And before I end this tour, I realized it wasn't a "pumpkin-free" tour after all since I do have some pumpkins in my decor...

Everything is so lovely, Vel! I've been MIA for quite awhile, too, but it feels great to be back visiting my bloggy friends. I have popped in on IG from time-to-time, and adore seeing pics of your sweet family....Sophia is growing up way too fast!

ReplyDeleteHi Vel,
ReplyDeleteGood to see you back and blogging. I have been pretty much MIA too. Too much going on with the home renovations and trying to get moved. Hate when life interferes with blogging and IG lol! Hope all is ok and you are getting through. Sometimes life throws us some real curve balls. Your home is always so beautiful.
xoxo
Kris
Hi Vel...I have been MIA from the blog world myself - it is good to get back. I do hope everything is okay with you and your family - sending you big hugs!! Your home is lovely - fall, winter, spring AND summer. xoxo

ReplyDeleteAbsolutely beautiful Vel! I love the touches of orange and the birds sprinkled throughout. I have a thing for birds:-). Happy to see you back to blogging but I can totally relate to being MIA because you have to handle issues that arise on the home front. Have a wonderful weekend! xx
ReplyDeleteI just knew I was going to get great inspiration from your post today, Vel and you did not disappoint. Your home looks incredible! I love your living room and the pillows look so pretty! Happy weekend, my friend!

ReplyDeleteyou made up for the absence of pumpkins just beautifully Vel. Hope all is going to be okay .
ReplyDeleteYour home looks gorgeous Vel! Loved the tour!
ReplyDeleteHi Vel, wow, I did a double take with those amazing plates. It takes skill and artistic flair to pull off your fab decor. Your use of geometric prints is totally amazing. I LOVE the blues, grays, and oranges. what pumpkins?... I didn't even miss them!!
ReplyDeleteHello, Vel! Your house is stunning, as usual. It must be such a magical place to live! You are an amazing collector of beautiful things. I enjoyed seeing all your one room challenges at once - they really make me believe that should you ever decide to give up practicing medicine you surely would have another career as a sought-after designer. And I loved seeing the older photo of your "before" kitchen. Doesn't that seem like forever ago now? It was such fun following along with you as you worked on that huge project that turned out so wonderfully. Your most accomplished project to me, though, is your beautiful family, and I love seeing them grow up on instagram. I hope things are looking up and life treats you well, as you truly deserve. Enjoy your fall!
ReplyDeleteHow everything’s ok with you, Vel. I have been MIA myself cause so much clean up is needed here. The big tree fell on our pool enclosure, damaging it. We just had the tree cut up and placed by the curb and now, have to take care of pool (it’s black!) and cage. Your Fall decor is beautiful as always. Take care!... Christine
ReplyDeleteHello Vel, you have such a beautiful home and I love the way you decorate it. I can't wait to see what you do for Halloween this year. Thanks for sharing this at C&C with J&J. Enjoy the weekend.
ReplyDeleteJulie
