My Day at Melrose Flea Market

We recently spent our summer vacation in sunny California.

Our main home base was in L.A. and of course, my visit to Los Angeles wouldn't have been complete without a visit to one of their popular markets - The Melrose Flea Market!

I had another reason to visit this place, you'll find out later on. But anyway, if your ever on this side of town, drop by and see this fab of a place over at the Fairfax High school every Sunday from 9am-5pm.

According to the Melrosetradingpost.org, It is described as...

" a cool, eclectic gem of a place to find treasures and rare goodies The Melrose Trading Post is a great Sunday destination.  You can expect to find something to make you say “wow” every single time you visit.   Enjoy the food court in the beautifully landscaped upper quad.  Relax to the live jazz band’s melodic vibes.  Treat yourself to a different kind of day."

Here are some of the very beautiful  things I saw during my visit...

Barcelona Chairs with lucite table in between
I did not ask the price of these babies because I knew my husband would not let me take this as a check-in luggage! :-)

Light fixtures and Lamps galore

Brass, Metal, Alabaster, you name it, they have it.
I love those 2 black dogs but Oh Man! They weighed at least 10 lbs each! I miss them so, I pray a flea market like this ends up in my backyard!!!

Re-finished furnitures

Beautiful Prints

Gorgeous Botanicals

My son especially loved these

Original Wood-Carved Art works

Hand-painted wooden Art
I actually bought one of these. I just couldn't resist Pooh Bear and Piglet. You'll see it here sometime in the future.

Check out this console on the left and stools - cool!

Another lucite table

And of course, the main reason why I went here, this yummy delicious Food Store -
The GC Crepemakers!

Trust me - it's the best food in this place
Look who's helping serve the freshly-squeezed lemonade?! ME!!!!!

Enjoying our yummy crepes and sweet potato fries and freshly-squeezed orange juice
My Brother and Sister-in-laws own this business and we love it so much - even if they weren't the ones selling, we'd still come back for more of their delicious crepes and other yummy stuff!

And since its a family business, and after all, WE ARE FAMILY, we helped out this Sunday, including my boys! Despite being super busy, we still had a lot of fun.

So please, if you come to this market, stop by and say "hello" to our family! :-)

Oh, and one last thing, since we are in L.A., and you can see "stars" "everywhere", we saw this super famous "star" outside...

Minnie-Mouse Cooper!!!!!!

Have A Wonderful Week!!!!!

  1. Crepes...yum! I can eat them forever.

You should have bought the two dogs -- and used USPS flat rate. No weight limit as long as they can fit in the box. :)

    1. Me too! We bought home a lot of crepes, but of course they don't taste the same freshly hot. I didn't think of the USPS thing I should've! now I'm kicking myself on the butt! LOL!

  2. this makes me miss Socal. I used to live in San Diego and during the latter months before we moved here in STL, I worked in the Beverly Hills area so I lived in LA during the week and go home in San Diego during the weekend... BUt... but there were weekends that I stayed because of the flea markets and farmer's markets. Yep I can't resist its charm. Definitely a kindred heart enclave those markets are!

Great post and yeah tell your SIL and BIL that I mentioned GC to my daughter who lives in LA.

Im glad you had a fab vacay!

    1. I can imagine Malou! Same thing for me when we moved from Chicago. I guess the weather in SoCal is just conducive for outdoor shopping!!!

Thanks for mentioning to your daughter, I'm sure she'll love it. Our favorite for sweet crepe is the La Vivienne and for the Savory ones, the Californian!!!!!Yum!
