Christmas Dining Room 2014

I am proud to say my decorations for Christmas is ALMOST done! Woohoo!!

Anyway, today, let me share with you our Dining room for the holidays!

Simple in red
My Dining room this year is a bit more subdued than years past.
It's also the first time I used a table cloth  (Ralph Lauren Home)for my Dining room, something I scored from TJMaxx !

Ribbons and ornaments for our shandy

Simple seasonal display

Our Nativity
I placed our special nativity here on top of the buffet table with candles flanking both sides.

I hung a simple paper star above the nativity. And see the plate ( scored from Goodwill for a buck) peaking on the back?

I say "AMEN" to that!

Hope your done with your holiday decorating!

Have a Great Week!

Tiffany Blue Baptismal Party

A little "Christmas Break" with this post my friends.

Last December 7, our family celebrated a very important occasion in our little daughters life, her baptism ...

No crying for our little one during the entire ceremony
We were so blessed to have this moment shared with family and friends from here and far away and the whole church community celebrated with us...

Fr. Ken singing "Alleluia" and showing off Sophia to everyone

With Godparents
We had 6 pairs of Godparents for Sophia (12 in total). That number is not unusual for us Filipinos - my oldest had 12 pairs of godparents, my second had 8 pairs, so come to think of it, Sophia has the least number of godparents ;-)

Our family with our parish priest
Of course with something so important comes a party that is befitting for the occasion.

I came up with a Tiffany blue baptismal party for Sophia to be held at our local country club.
I prepared my souvenirs, table centerpieces and a candy buffet set-up about a week before the event

Shared this on my INSTAGRAM account
Other than some jars & candies that I bought, most of it was decorated with my favorite material, gift wrap (from Homegoods) and ribbons!

I was only able to decorate with the help of some of my friends, a few hours the day before the event and about 1 hour before the event since the room was booked to the brim with Christmas parties back to back.  There was also another party after mine so I had to come up with decorations that were easy to set-up and easy to remove too!

Here's what I did the day before the event, set up the cake table and Candy buffet...
I added the balloon letters so that the wall wouldn't look too empty and skirted the table

Tiffany blue Candy Buffet

The sign I made for the buffet using a background from
DESIGNLOVEFEST.COM

It's my first time setting up a candy buffet and it was really fun and I think it turned out good...

marshmallows, mints, gum balls, chocolate drops, jelly beans
rock candies and twisty pops

The cake boxes were a gift  that contained the souvenir which was ordered from ETSY by our friend

This was what's inside - Genuine pearl rosary my mom brought from
the Philippines

I added balloons for a more festive atmosphere and added the gift wrap napkin holders too.

I added tiffany blue plastic covers underneath the white cloth ones

More lettered balloons by our table
 The centerpieces were very simple.
The centerpiece I came up with - square vase from Walmart, baby's breath for flowers, silver frames were from the Dollar Store (2 each table) contained photos of my sweet little girl

It was a fun and filling celebration...

I hope that someday our little Sophia will see how happy we all were for her...

And that everyone greeted her into the faith with love, prayers and care!

Hope you all have a Great week!

Our Christmas Home tour!

Welcome!

I'm so excited to share with you our home we decorated for Christmas! And I'm sharing it here...

LINK

If your new to the blog, I just wanted to give you a brief background on moi - I am a mom, wife & kiddie doc who recently had a baby girl (2 months ago) after 9 years from my last 2 boys. And since it's our baby's FIRST CHRISTMAS, I wanted to make it more special than ever!

So let's start with the Living Room....

Our FROZEN Christmas Home
It's the first year we got our Flocked tree, if you want to know more details about our TREES, click  HERE!

Love our paper star lanterns from IKEA

Love this chalkboard pillow from Pottery barn. The marble pillows are from H & M

"Let it go... I mean, Let it snow"

I'm in love with these mostly because I see my kids beautiful faces on these Personalized Stockings from Shutterfly
I never really liked our fireplace, brick and glass blocks combined just not my thing, but this year I LOVE IT because of these 3 stockings!I just love them! I grabbed the opportunity when I saw what a great deal Shutterfly was promoting one day. I know it will be a Christmas keepsake for years to come!
I also love the Chalkboard art I scored from Walmart! I think it says it
all for families right?

Even our Media Center got Christmasy!
I love seeing the  reflection of the stairs on here!

Now let's go to our Dining room which is a bit toned down this year compared to our other Christmas past...

First time I used Table Cloth would you believe? I scored it on clearance at TJ Maxx
the runner is a Salvation Army find
Chandelier update is simple this year, just ornaments and lots of red ribbon

Our special nativity - a gift from my mother a couple of years ago

Now let's head off to our kitchen...

Lots of sweets and treats on the island

Something ready of Santa

I know it's too early still, but my son wants it ready. ;-)

We have the Hot chocolate station all year round since I started it last year!
Cookies are behind for a quick snack

I have left-over candies from my daughters recent Baptismal Party Candy Buffet!
Mr. Buddy Elf is also trying to get cookies from our jar the day I took the pictures!

Our Kitchen office

Have my different trees in here along with some snowmen and my teapots

Some more Christmas touches all around the kitchen!

Our Breakfast area

Moved our Living room console here and placed all these decors!

Are you tired? I hope not, this is the last room in the tour and it's the simplest, our Basement Family Room...
Just some pillows and our Charlie Brown tree

Some lighted cone trees by our small fireplace here

Well, that's it for now, I'll be posting more details of each room as the weeks go on so if you can, please do check it out.

Hope you enjoyed this tour and I wish you and your family a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!
