Master Closet Update - FINAL REVEAL

Remember when I told you that the Master closet still had things to be done on it ( you can check it out HERE )? Well, it is FINALLY DONE!

Do you see it?

BEFORE, BEFORE                                                                      AFTER

I finally have the wallpaper up! And I have to say this, it is absolutely DIVINE!

Mirror and Clock are from TARGET

Tiled Geode Wallpaper from Ballard Designs

I described it as DIVINE, because it is from the line by the fabulous Candice Olson of "Divine Design" fame from HGTV!

I feel like being inside a jewelry box every time I'm in my closet now!

So far, since February,we have kept our closet organized and clean as before. I think the system works! And if your an O-C like me, you know how important that is  right?!

I can finally say this room is completely done! Hooray! Now, on to the next! ;-)

Design Details of our Summer Living Room Decor

Thank you all for your sweet comments regarding my SUMMER HOME TOUR

I had a lot to share that I kept the pictures at a minimum (yes, that was "my minimum") but I still had lots more to tell you regarding details of my decor. So today, I'm sharing with you those details!

Like I mentioned I wanted a 'Subtle Beach' Theme, hence you don't see starfishes and a lot of shells anywhere, I do have some 'Beachy' stuff to go with my theme, but I wanted it to be subtle since one, I don't have a lot of Beach-themed decor, and two, my home has never felt beachy at all, so I came up with the above. I think it worked out for us since my little Sophia would probably not stop until all the starfishes are broken and shells scattered! ;-)

I carried the blue and yellow theme all thru out the house, and my newly made pillow covers with Serena and Lily Havana fabric was just perfect for my 'subtle beach' theme! Thank again to my awesome MIL who sewed these for me.

Our coffeetable was decorated mainly with knick-knacks I have amassed over the years. The jumping off point was Gray Malin's Limited-edition Signed copy book that I just recently got along with my two huge Kate Spade Wooden Platters I bought years ago. I topped the two platters off with plants on one, and grapevine wood and brass sand dollar (scores from Target). I also added my capiz-laden wood bowl with my sea-shelled covered balls and small capiz balls, all bought from the Philippines before.

By the piano, did you notice the four gorgeous paintings in my stairway? Do you remember what I had here before? Let me refresh your memory....

I had 4 black mirrors here BEFORE

As in the BEFORE  picture, I fell in love with Gina Julian's work with my first acquisition, the (1) "Carried by the Crowd" water color! I then bought her other 2 available works, the (2) "Tulipa" & (3)"Sweet Melissa" and got a fourth one that was not on her site, called  (4) " The Promise of Better Days"...

These are all so gorgeous up close that they just make me smile everyday!

And because I'm a huge fan of her work, and Gina is just so accomodating and super nice to work with,  I commissioned her to do my kid's portraits! I can't wait to share them with you!

I fell in love with these Otomi Pillow covers from Wisteria last year, and I've been holding on to them until this season. I decorated the seating area with this and my Lilly Pullitzer for Target stool and that huge Conch shell my mom gave me from the Philippines years ago.

Our TV area got 'beachy" too! Brought out our old beach portrait and my bisque white urchin votives I scored from Philippines on our last visit there,

My console was simple, with my huge Vintage Bamboo Bird cage flanked by my twos of vase, brass giraffe, orchids, bisque sea urchin votives. Behind the bird cage is a PINK PAGODA print I bought years ago.

There you have it, our Summer Living room! Hope you enjoyed the details of this space! So how about you, are YOU or your home summer ready already?

Have a Great Week!

Summer Home tour

Welcome to my Summer Home tour! I am so thankful and honored to participate in one of the biggest Summer Blogging event! Thank you Marty from A Stroll Thru Life for this chance to join and share our home! And if your coming from Monica Wants It  I am sure you've seen the amazing Summer home tours of the other bloggers participating in this tour!

In case it's your first time here, I am a mom of 3 kids (15y, 11y & 1 y) , wife and Pediatrician who adores all things design and frustrated decorator at heart! I started my blog to share our life here in the U.S. (since we're originally from the Philippines) to our family and friends back home, but it has blossomed into my decorating journal and a way to share my ideas to others who love decorating like me!

Join the other hosts today  Refresh Restyle | Splendor Styling | Monica Wants It | Life and Home @ 2102 |  It All Started With Paint | Far Above Rubies

Anyway, let's get on with the tour shall we, starting off with my Dining room!

Our Summer Dining Room

As you may have noticed BLUES and YELLOWS dominate our summer Dining room! For summer, I always love pops of yellow around the house, what better way to remind you of the current season with this bright and happy color right?!

I wanted to display my Blue and white Chinoiserie collection here, and I think the yellow flowers and the lemons just made them pop out all the more!

I adore these Light Blue Magnolia place mats which I scored from Draper James a while back. I also used my Jonathan Adler Happy home plates and coasters which went well with my colors.

Did you notice my gingham runner? I made that using gift wrap I scored form TJ maxx and some cardboard.  :-)

Now let's head off to our Summer Living room...

The huge windows in my home always keeps everything bright, but like I mentioned, I love pops of YELLOW everywhere especially for summer. I sort of thought of a "Subtle Beach" theme for our home all together.

Havana Canning pillow fabric were scored from Serena and Lily Sales - my MIL did all the sewing for me though, aren't I lucky! Thank you Nanay!

I love the Original Watercolor paintings by my favorite artist Gina Julian

From here, the outdoors beckons, so let me show you some Summer Zhusing up in our patio!

Summer is our favorite season since we get to enjoy our little piece of heaven outdoors. We've had the gazebo since we moved here in 2010, and added the pergola last year. Our family loves the water, and since there is no beach nearby, our pool is our favorite substitute.

Let's start with our Summer Outdoor living room in the gazebo!

All my furniture is from TARGET bought 7 years ago!
I just changed up our pillows and rug this year and I love it! I used to have yellows outdoors too, but this year I opted for GREENS.

These fab pillows are from Plow & Hearth and bought them from Joss & Main. I ordered another set of pillows but they just haven't arrived yet.

Fabulous rug is from Carlton Varney Collection from FRONTGATE
And for our Outdoor Dining area...

I kept with the GREENS and punches of black with the pillows and our plates!

Plates are from Carlton Varney Collection as well.

So now you know where we'll be spending most of our days this summer. Oh, and there's one last thing...

... we're finishing up our daughter's playground in the yard too, so the outdoors is really gonna be the place for all of us!

Thank you so much for stopping by and don't forget to check out the other homes joining this fabulous Summer tour on the links below in case you missed them!

Hope you all have a wonderful Summer!
