Family Valentine

Hello Everyone!

I hope you all had a lovely Valentine's day with your family! Today, just wanted to share with you how we celebrated ours, which by now you know, has become some sort of tradition in our household.

We started Valentines day with a special breakfast I prepared for my family.

 I used some heart-shaped plates I scored from last year and my Norman Rockwell mugs for the occassion. Simple doily chargers for our simple Valentine meal.

I had a card and gift for the kids

On the morning of, my hubs and kids surprised me with this...

Donuts, tulips, roses and balloons

 Hubs bought the donuts so I wouldn't have to prepare breakfast but I already had the breakfast planned.

I made Chocolate chip red velvet pancakes which was supposed to be heart-shaped ;-)

I made Hot cocoa for breakfast too

For dinner our meal was very simple and also has become a tradition of sorts, heart-shaped pizza!

Overall it was a very fun Valentines for all of us. Hope you enjoyed this short post of mine!

Our Family Valentine Brunch

As with any major holiday, I try to do something special for my family in what little way I can, and
Valentines day is no exception.

Granted that I had 2 hours to prepare, I am very pleased with how our special Valentine Brunch turned out, since my husband and I just came back from a quick overnight getaway the night before, a Heart-shaped pizza (which has become a tradition in our home) was for sure on the menu....

I love these Pink Almond Cakes from IKEA - pretty and yummy!

What is Brunch without some waffles (from IKEA as well) and fresh fruit?

The only thing I really cooked that day, my special Spaghetti

And since it is brunch, and nothing fancy at all, paper plates and paper napkins from Target are in order I think.

I gave the kids a Valentine card and Chocolate scented teddy bears along with their meal. I also used leftover Flamingo straws from Sophia's birthday party and added a lot of Dollar Store Doilies all around the table.

The meal went well and after all the hoopla was gone from the table, my family thanked me for their special Valentine and well, I have this beautiful flowers to remind me of this special day with my family.

Easy Valentine Doily Crafts

Hello Friends!

I hope that whatever team your rooting for this SUPERBOWL wins!

We are watching of course, but the highlight of our weekend was my son Aidan's 

PETER PAN MUSICAL!

AIDAN is the little indian wearing dark brown to the right

 It was truly very fun and exciting!

Honestly, even if my son did not participate in the show, I would still say that the show 

over-all was PAN-tastic!!

Oldest kid in the group is Peter (Bailee) who is still in High school

But the most important thing is that, my little AIDAN truly enjoyed this experience and had a great time feeling proud of their work and belonging to such a fantastic group of kids!

I'm betting this won't be the last! ;-)

Thank you for indulging my "stage mom" side my friends. 

And now back to my craft.

I came up with two very simple Valentine craft for this loving holiday. 

We will be out of town that day but I still wanted to come up with something special 

since it will be Sophia's 1st!

Doily Hearts Table Cover

This is truly a super easy but big bang project!

So my breakfast table has a lazy susan in the middle that added an extra layer to this simple project.

Plain jane most days

 I then created a pattern first on top of the lazy susan...

 ... then Taped away underneath

Our Simple but pretty Valentines table

 I then added some bigger doily on the main table. Then taped away.

I also made this simple Doily Garland for the window...

Super simple again and budget0friendly

I got most of my doily from the Dollar Store and Hobby Lobby and still have Lots left-over.

This project cost less than $5 to make!

But of course, I could not keep the setting looking this way everyday.

So I just made a smaller Heart Doily Mat for the center of the table for daily use until Valentines day comes!

Rushed Valentine Dinner

Before February ends, let me share with you the rushed Valentines dinner 
I prepared for my family.

Last Valentines, we really had no plans whatsoever to eat out. 

We didn't DARE TO! 

I didn't have anything special planned for dinner that night, but then a co-worker of mine mentioned she just ordered a Heart-shaped Pizza for her family for that day to celebrate.

I didn't even know that kind of pizza existed! 

And that was my "light-bulb moment", I thought, MAYBE I could pull off a sweet surprise for my boys in 1 hour (because that was all the time I had from coming from work and before picking the kids up from school)!

First stop: Dollar TREE - I grabbed 4 balloons ( & some other stuff)

which I used instead of place cards.

The rest of them had their names on it

With a short message.. :-)

I called in my Heart-shaped pizza at Papa Murphys and 

started spinning my salad and making my dressing.

I then baked my brownies and eventually used a heart-shaped cookie-cutter 

(also from the Dollar Tree) to make these...

I was gonna top this off with yummy Ice cream for dessert!

Dipped my strawberries from some left-over chocolate that I had 

and waited for them to cool-off..

They are as yummy as they look!

I then started with my table setting.

Using left-over gift wrap from Aidans Dr. Seuss Party, I cut my place mats to size.

I then added the Valentine Napkin and heart shaped marshmallows (all from Dollar tree) and brought out my milk glass collection.

After I picked up the boys, we went straight to their weekly Piano lessons, then went to Papa Murphys to pick up our pizza! I baked it and here it is...

Bacon, Pepperoni, Green Peppers and mushroom with lotsa cheese = YuMMy!

For Drinks, my husband and I had Pink Moscato and the kids had Freshly-squeezed grapefruit juice with  apple slices.

Of course what dinner would be complete without Candle-light?!

My kids and husband were all pleasantly surprised 

and I am so glad I did this for them!
