Clean slate

Almost everyone looks forward to the NEW YEAR because of the possibility of a fresh start -  a clean slate.

Wether it be something major (being more organized, patient and less critical?!) or something minor ( no sodas for 2013?! - hmmmm, maybe that one is a MAJOR too), the new year ushers in all sorts of resolution to start off,  hopefully on the right foot.

Our home is no exception. So after all the Holiday decors been put away. Here is what I'm left with...

Bare and ready for a new start...

all the holiday hoopla - gone! You can still see traces of it on the blue bins behind!

Even our dining room looks "sad" minus all the glitter and trees...

No frills...

But of course, knowing me, our home won't stay too bear for long... here is what our home will look like for the rest of the season...

Rearranging and a new carpet to warm our toes for the rest of the winter!

Browns and grey dominate our Winter Decor. Also made a switcheroo with the lamps.
These Nate Berkus  lamps used to be in the bedroom.
Brown pillows are from TARGET on clearance

Cozy throws for the long winter.
Brown pillow covers are from Restoration Hardware bought years ago on clearance

Fur and throws dominate, with a lot of texture still all around. The carpet is from TJ MAXX

Simple Dining room set-up.
Ponsettias were FREE from church

Our Ferrero Stash - Did I ever tell you WE are all
addicted to this chocolate?!

Simple Centerpiece
Candles are from WORLD MARKET on clearance.
I hope you all are off to a good start too!

Will be posting my Xmas decor organization next.

Have a wonderful week!

  3. I love, love, love your simple classic decor. It makes it so easy to add in a little something colorful and then let it go when you are tired of it.

  5. Your home looks amazing already! I always feel a twinge of sadness when I pack away all the Christmas decorations. Recently, I've started leaving behind some things that are more winter than Christmas though to stretch out that glittery, holiday feeling :)
